I filled out the form as well...what can it hurt...if we get nothing it's not for a lack of trying on certain peoples parts. Thanks Ron for heading this thing up.
They did it multiple times testing various methods. This video might refresh your memory. The first time in the clip they have a broken window. Second time was what I mentioned b4 !
No, my memory serves me fine. That was like the 5th time he tried, the first two he struggled and struggled to push the door open, panic hit and Jamie gave him the breather. Second time, he waited until the water hit a certain spot, then tried to push it open, panic = breather. Third time, he used the other door as a back brace to "leg press" the door open, panic = breather. It wasn't until that last time that Jamie had him relax, then he was able to open the door once it hit the bottom.
Sorry...

Who cares if he ran out of breath? those other times? I just said that one method worked? Also he opened the door right when he hit the water on one try and got out quickly! You forgot that one!

I filled out the form but won"t join the class suit unless Toyota guarantees free replacement of windshields until they fix the problem. Seen too many of these before where the consumer always looses.

You are right, I am wrong, you are smart, I am dumb, you are the master, I am the slave...

What is the stated goal of these attorneys once they file suit? How does this ultimately benefit the FJ owner?
Not trying to be a jerk, just curious.
I have seen way too many class-action suits that even when successful after a couple of years end up giving the people involved $2.99 and the lawyers involved significantly more.
WHAT HE SAID!!!!! ^^^^ Screw that class action bullsheit.
Thats not the answer..... and when the paperwork comes in the mail , I decline to be any part of it.
It makes a lawfirm a million or two and you might get a check for $1.98
I'm curious. Who contacted fazmiclaw in the first place about this? How did RonDeF find out that fazmiclaw had started soliciting? Who stands to gain the most from all this whirlwind of activity.
I appreciate y'all have windshield issues, but one message to Ross and seven days later we hear that a law firm is pursuing a class action suit?! What happened to graduated responses. Let the TV guy have his airtime and see what Toyota's response is. Or did McGlaughlin contact fazmiclaw just so he could claim to have "helped" rondef.
It may be 100% true that Toyota hasn't had enough approved warranty claims or complaints to trigger their alarms. Do you think going to the dealer and having him blow you off makes it all the way to big daddy Toyota? How many of you can post a windshield case number from your call to Toyota?
It's way too soon for a class action suit, IMO. Getting this windshield issue settled is almost as important to me as it is to you. No, I don't own an FJ Cruiser yet (I'm waiting for the 2008 model year and may never own one if Toyota doesn't start building some true base models). Yes, I want to see a sturdier windshield. I'm still here every day after a year on the forum, even if I don't own one.
Guys, call the 800 number. Don't just settle for a dismissive answer from a customer service rep. Get a case number. If you have had three different broken windshields, call three different times and get three different numbers. It's ironic, but "this is the first I've heard of it" is the answer you want to hear from the Toyota customer service rep. It should make it just that much easier to get a case number.
No good will come of this to FJ Cruiser owners. I can see Toyota digging their heels in on this one. If they don't, all this will have accomplished from my selfish point of view is that Toyota will raise the price of the FJ Cruiser.
I do agree this seems to be moving along fast, but with people dealing with multiple WS replacement, how fast is to fast?

I feel dirty just reading these two threads.
Don't read em. Another problem solved! No need to thank me, I do this for a living

I can and my case number with NHTSA as well.

I agree with you! Thanks to all that have opened cases and the rest of you who have the issue need to do more then just vent in a forum.

If you are that concerned buy a 2007 before the prices go through the roof. I'd like to know how you know no good will come of this. Try putting yourself in the shoes of the people who are dealing with the crack windshield issue or better yet those who have replaced theirs multiple times in a matter of months. I see people pointing out that the prices on WS are dropping. I agree that this is good news, but replacing a 400.00 WS every coupe of months is still unacceptable to me.
Thanks, rondef.
You should Thank him. Lets hope the effort he is putting forth, helps get WS issue addressed. Then some of the folks on here can spend their extra cash on mods and not saving for their next WS replacement.
Stu
