Just so you know. In a typical class action suit, the complaintants (that's us) get very small settlements, while the lawyers get the bulk of the money.

Take what man makes and use it,
But do not worship it,
For it shall pass.
If to do were as easy as to know what were good to do,
Chapels had been churches, and poor mans cottages, princes’ palaces.
Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats.

Not so in the Honda Element class action lawsuit. They got glass warranties for 60,000 miles. That is cerntainly a lot better than what we have right now.

I have just contacted Ross McLaughlin (7 on your side) and asked if he can hurry up and run our story on the windshields. Maybe when Toyota has the media on one side and the lawyers on the other they will step up to the plate and do the right thing.
I'm not holding my breath on this one. I'll bet Toyota advertises on CH 7, and their network. Money talks.

Ross did come out and interview five of us and he has kept me in the loop on all that he has done since the interview. I have been posting that information in a seperate thread.

Yeah, I know. Years ago I had a reporter very interested in reporting a problem with a local healthcare provider. Everything was looking good, and then the guy quit calling me and wouldn't return my calls. Turns out the healthcare provider was a big advertiser with them and the story got canned. I wish you more luck than I had.
While I have some pitting in my windshield, I don't have any chipping/breakage. Knock on wood.

What is the stated goal of these attorneys once they file suit? How does this ultimately benefit the FJ owner?
Not trying to be a jerk, just curious.
I have seen way too many class-action suits that even when successful after a couple of years end up giving the people involved $2.99 and the lawyers involved significantly more.
I have to be a little suspicious of their motives as well. I can see a settlement where we all get a $5.00 off a $1,400.00 windshield coupon from Toyota and the lawyers get $3 Million. I will take the initial steps and register with them, but am still suspicious of their motives.

I am an attorney that has been involved in a couple of class action law suits. I do not practice law anymore as I am actually ethical and got tired of selling my soul to make a dollar as a plaintiff's and criminal defense lawyer.

Wow, an honest (converted) lawyer. Damn glad to meet you.

Of course an attorney took the case, have you seen how many graduate from law school every year? They have to do something. Hopefully this case will shed some light on the issue and we can resolve the windshield issue.
