The Law offices of Fazio and Michelleti have stated a class action lawsuit against Toyota on the windshield problems. If you wish to take part in this please go to the link below and sign up with them, there is a form to fill out.
Hey Toyota we know your watching, you are going to have to deal with this issue now. You really don't want all this bad publicity, do you?
What is the stated goal of these attorneys once they file suit? How does this ultimately benefit the FJ owner?
Not trying to be a jerk, just curious.
I have seen way too many class-action suits that even when successful after a couple of years end up giving the people involved $2.99 and the lawyers involved significantly more.

They are going to contact me today about it since I have compiled a large list of members of this forum that have experinced a windshield problem. My goal is to have them either warranty them or design a better, stronger windshield for us and at their expense, not ours.

Cool. Another way for lawyers to make a bunch of money.
My windshield has broken and it was expensive and a pain in the neck to get fixed, but I don't see this going anywhere other than making money for that law firm. I hope I'm wrong but, the $1.15 that I got when Qwest was ordered to pay millions doesn't make me very hopeful.

It can't hurt, and can only help. The Honda Element owners made out ok, they got a 60,000 mile warranty out of their class action lawsuit. That isn't bad since I need another windshield and I only have 4500 miles on my FJ.

That is true, but if given a choice, I think Toyota would rather avoid bad PR by having a lawsuit mentioned along with their name. Given Toyota's ranking in auto sales and reputation, the MSM (mainstream media) could run this as a "gotcha" media event for a while.
The narrative could be:
"One of the nation's best selling automakers, Toyota, has been named a defendant in a class-action lawsuit for defective windshields installed on their 2007 model year FJ Cruisers. The FJ has had a history of easily broken windshields that can cause a safety issue and has caused owners to replace them 2 or more times within months of buying the SUV.
Toyota has a reputation of building high quality cars and trucks, like the best-selling Camry and popular hybrid Prius, so this lawsuit comes at a time when the automaker is seeing record sales and a month where it became the number one automaker in the nation."
A recall is, at most, a 2 day media story which goes wayside easy and is forgotten by Friday of that week..
I have just contacted Ross McLaughlin (7 on your side) and asked if he can hurry up and run our story on the windshields. Maybe when Toyota has the media on one side and the lawyers on the other they will step up to the plate and do the right thing.
