Diesel Canadian FJ?

Hiya! In this thread, a poster reports that Canada might get a diesel FJ next year.

I have no idea if this is true.... but if it is, how hard would it be to buy one in Canada and bring it back to the U.S.?

Also, what do we think a diesel might look like, performancewise? Does Toyota have an existing diesel that they could shoehorn in? What kind of MPG might we get? Any reason you couldn't get MT or AT with it?

Like you and many others, I am also hopeful that a diesel version will be released this year. It is really the only thing holding me back from buying a new FJ Cruiser, or should it be called a BJ Cruiser. The name might not work too well from a marketing point, for obvious reasons.

Used to own a BJ70, which of course the US didn't get so it may be possible that Canada could get lucky again. I will keep my fingers crossed.
