I am sure this has been covered in several diffrent threads, but there seems to be an influx of new folks joining our community which is GREAT. However, there also seems to be alot of "new to 4wheeling" questions being asked as well. My guess is that the combined 4X4 experience on this board is close to something like 4000 years +. Throw in the fact that we have members of the Toyota Trail Team and you have one hell of a knowledge base here. So far my experience on this forum has been awsome and to all I say THANK YOU...I thought that this would be a great thread to share tips and tricks in one place for all the new folks (as well as the old hands--never to old to learn something new) Again thanks everyone for making this the GREATEST FJC Forum on the web !!!

Reason: spelling
Slow as possible (and only as fast as necessary).
Know how to use your truck's off-roading features before you go out.
Multiple vehicles whenever possible.
Go out with experienced off-roaders.
Be (overly) prepared for the worse.
Constantly scan the road ahead.
Know your recovery equipment before you have to use it. Lots of spare parts and tools.
Water, food and appropriate clothing.
First aid kit and other survival gear.
Communication devices, maps, compass, GPS, etc.
Haul out even more garbage than you hauled in.
Seatbelts, seatbelts, seatbelts.
Know you and your trucks limitations.
Tread lightly.
Have more fun than ever imaginable.
