Previously hidden feature of the FJ surfaces in warm weather....

Add this to the list of things the FJ does well, “Bug Catcher”.

Good lord! The windscreen of the FJ collects more bugs, (or should I say, bug parts in cream sauce), than any car I've ever had. The bumper and grille of the FJ (the primary bug scoopers on our other cars) can't hold a candle to the number of insects whose short lives end in my field of vision. The mirrors kill bugs too.

I assume it has something to do with the angle of the glass. A bug deflector, something I never investigated for any other vehicle, is looking like a necessity ‘cause I am tried of pulling out a step stool to climb up and clean the glass.

Rant complete.

We don't need them stinkin' bugs anyway!

Hopefully none of them bugs crack our windshields though.

The bug deal is what I hate about when things warm up here in America. I don't know why, but we really don't have that problem back home in Hawaii and it is warm all year...and yes we have bugs!

...think of it as natural selection ....or the most exspensive fly swatter you've ever purchased.

I would highly reccomend some of the windshield washer fluids formulated for bug removal...like Rain X. They are more expensive then the cheaper versions out there but are more effetive at removing all the carnage from your windshield. Also, I've found that they are removed more easily when the guts are fresh, so I use my wipers/fluid all the time during the spring when they are most prevelant. I'm kinda anal about clean glass and good visibility....it's a safety thing!

Of course "Anne Boleyn " might be a better name with the three wipers.

You should see my windshied right now! It's actually covered in blood. I feel like a serial killer.. It's raining right now and the rain will wash it off.. Too many bug kills to count..
