some FJ owners just don't care...

i drove to burbank from vegas to see a friend this weekend and maybe saw a dozen fj's... i honked at them or flashed the high beams, and nothing... like i didn't even exist. all the fj owners i know love their rigs and wants everyone to look at them.

what gives with them?

My same complaint. I even got ran off the road almost for giving a fellow FJ'er the thumbs up. It's not the 20 somethings but the chicks and the 40 somethings that are the 'A holes' from what I have witnessed. I am 36 and I will wave to everyone I see and I never get the reply.

Oh, are you saying there's actually other 20 somethings that drive these things? I thought I was the only one, lol. So far, I've only seen old 40 somethings driving FJ's. Sometimes I wonder if the FJ is a Cadi in disguise.

Surprisingly, I get more waves/headlights/honks from 20-something's and 30-something's than I do from other old farts like me.

Loosen up, fellow geezers. Appreciate what you got!!

Re: some FJ owners just don't care...

I've had my FJ for a week now. Before I got it it was rare to see one on the road. Now, I see at least on every time I'm out. I've waved to six FJ's in the last few days and got one wave back. He was a younger guy in his 30's (I'm 45). To be honest, I'm not sure everyone saw me but I'll continue to give a wave and a grin when I pass a fellow FJ owner.

I'm in central Maryland and I wave to all the FJ's I see. I either get a wave back or a blank stare. Maybe the stares are from someone borrowing the FJ

Re: some FJ owners just don't care...

Remember some FJ owners aren't OFFROADERS! More than half of the people who purchased a FJ Crusier DON'T OFFROAD and don't care about OFFROADING. JUST A THOUGHT!

Welcome.
I'm around your age and have been enjoying my fj since it's release over a year ago. I don't know why? but very few have returned a nod or a smile when I pass. Maybe they think it's silly or un-macho or something... un cool as I may look, I'll still give a nod for the hell of it.
