Now - to be perfectly honest with you, I have considered trading in my FJ, but it has nothing to do with the ride or quality of the vehicle, I love my FJ, but when I look at my FJ and see the windshield with its crack, and multiple stone chips, as well as the paint chipping on the A-pillars, ( I have a black cherry so quite noticeable ), the vehicle looks more like a used car than the cool style the FJ was meant to be! Please don't misunderstand me - I love the FJ and won't trade it in, but every now and then, the thought crosses the mind. I guess I was hoping for at least a couple of years before the windshield and paint looked like it was more than 2 years old.

yes.
if they sell the 70 series in the us i will trade it.
or if they start to sell a diesel fjc in all white.
Never really looked into the 70 series until I read this. Found Toyota's Australia website, and wow, they are pretty cool. Still expensive as hell, but looks like something that could take on Ayers Rock!

In fact my plan is to keep the current FJ for a couple of years and then GIVE it (as in a gift) to my son-in-law and buy a new one for myself.
Trade it in? Why?
I don't think I've had as much fun with any ride I've owned as I have with the FJ. Maybe it's a personal thing because I haven't had mechanical problems, paint chipping, broken winshields, etc.

Just got mine last night, so no . But after reading up on this forum I am going to spring for clearplex on the windshield and 3M protector film on the exposed front body-color panels, a-pillars, and the rocker panel areas. Even if it costs a grand all in it's worth it to protect the investment.
Are you kidding? It took me 21 years of driving an 86 4Runner before Toyota finally came out with something I wanted instead of my 4Runner. Would not trade or sell it unless they came out with a diesel FJ, and even then I'd keep it, give it to my wife and buy me a diesel. Nope, I bought it and I love it!
