Ford beats Toyota in Quality Rankings

via MSNBC for JD Power And Associates

What do you think about this?

My sister has a ford and is always complaining about it, but that might not have anything to do with that car

Still no problems with my FJ, but I thought I'd bring it up.

Re: Ford beats Toyota in Quality Rankings

I have owned fords for over 25 years and will never buy another after owning my FJ. Ford will have people print anything to try to convince them to buy fords. There sales are awful, and toyota is smoking them. The bad thing is, they know this but it is to late.

You've GOT to be kidding. I'd rather have a KIA! I would NEVER buy another Ford. We have nothing but Fords at work. The fit and finish is horrible. They PAID someone to print that.

Re: Ford beats Toyota in Quality Rankings

From the link:
"Porsche again dominated the overall ranking of brands, averaging 91 problems per 100 vehicles as it had last year."

One, that article sucks... try to read any real info from it. What does 100 problems per 100 vehicles mean, vs the other item mentioned about leading catagories? (not flaming your for posting it) The article is just crap. give me some data or some link to real data. Is a problem a transmission failure, or the AC vent doesn't move right?

Just shows...

Re: Ford beats Toyota in Quality Rankings

Pull any ford beside any toyota. Now , just open and shut a door on each one and listen. Nuff said.

LOL, yep. right now the local tv station is running this... what crap.

two notes:

My HS autoshop teacher used to put on the chalkboard (yea, I'm that old), "Speed Kills, buy a Ford and live"

Or when David Visor (sp) gave special engine clinics at Univ of Colo at Denver, he would ask ask how many of the mech's/engr were Ford people (low percentage) then he would always say "We'll go SLOW for you Ford people".

Think about it, if you were dumb enough to buy a Ford Edge (those commercials????) would admit there was anything wrong with it? lol

Re: Ford beats Toyota in Quality Rankings

ived never owned a ford but i have driven a few mustangs, pickup trucks and vans for a while, and i have to say they just feel wrong, the whole front end always has wierd sounds, power steering pump always make funny noises, trannies go bad in just a few years and electrical components are just as bad. Plus once you drive your brand new ford out of the dealership it has already depreciated almost 30-40% of its value (at least here in PR)
