Storage Solutions

The one negative about the FJ that really stands out for me (aside from entombing backseat passengers in a compartment that they can't exit) is the lack of interior storage space. This hit home yesterday when I couldn't even find a good spot for a rolled-up set of jumper cables. I have the two plastic snap-on cover storage spots in the back (two now that I have yanked and sold the subwoofer and replaced the panels). These are basically large enough for a sandwich. I have the little net on the back door. It's about as useful as an empty Bic lighter... maybe a little more.

So I am starting to think about some sort of storage addition. Don't really like the idea of carrying a box around on the rack just to hold crap. Maybe there are some possibilities in the interior. Has anyone else done any creative thinking along these lines?

Re: Storage Solutions

The Toyota cargo net really comes in handy for all the gear I keep in the FJ. You can even hang two of them back there.

Re: Storage Solutions

Wow, that's pretty amazing. Larger than what I need, but looks like a great solution if you need to keep a lot of stuff in the truck, and want a place to sleep too.

Re: Storage Solutions

I use a larger Pelican Case (Pelican™*Products**) It holds all of the "stuff" that I need. Its 20.37" x 15.43" x 9". I store it on its side in the back but you could store it upright and have more room for other "stuff" if needed & tie it down for rough off road.
