Question Switch panel

I have the A-Trac, Diff Loc, Subwoofer, Power inverter, and Parking sonar switches in my panel. What are the three blank ones for? Are there some switches I don't have? My FJ has has the auto transmission.

I saw that an OEM fog light switch can be purchased for one of the two blanks to the left of the steering wheel. Is the FJ already prewired for this switch like it is for the subwoofer and if so are there prewired terminals near the front bumper to plug OEM lights into?

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Re: Switch panel

I felt the same way when I bought my FJ.

Some of the blanks are for the 2 wheel drive models....in the owner's manual it shows that one for a LIMITED SLIP button....something that isn't available (or needed) on the 4x4..due to the locking rear.

Re: Switch panel

One of the blanks is for the sonar cancel button, part of an alarm uppgrade I think.

Yep. It's the lower right blank, near the AUX input for the FJammer.

Re: Switch panel

Just installed the factory alarm, and it does come with the switch but it does not light up at night all others do. Is it suppose to be like that?

Yes, there is no backlight for that (mystery) switch. It turns OFF the Radar Proximity Sensor (it detects motion inside the FJ) on the factory VIP RS3200 alarm.

Re: Switch panel

You can also use the blank spots for aftermarket lights and other switches. I have 5 aftermarket switches in mine. Right roof rack light, Left roof rack light, backup lights mounted on roof rack, backup camera switch, and window switch to unlock rear window.

Question Re: Switch panel

I had wondered this myself "why do I have 3 blank panel switches when I just bought top of the line FJ?" Now I have seen somewhere in another forum on here where someone has the 2 left panels occupied with factory switches except either the upper or lower switch in addition to having a light pic on it also has a little horizontal line running right below the light? will the owner of this please speak up and help shed some light(forgive the pun) on this? Is it some sort of factory fog light? or maybe a light for the rrof rack? like I said, it looks like the above switch only it has a little line runnung right below it?

Re: Switch panel

The lower slot on the left is for the Aux lights. You can get a kit or buy the parts from a dealer. The problem with the wiring associated with the Aux switch is that the high beams must be on in order to use them. I just installed the switch but intend to wire up fog lights so I am looking for a work around on the high beam function. The upper switch is for the roof rack lights, which another kit you can buy or possibly just get the switch. The nice thing about the upper slot is that all the wiring is there.
