Re: Any High Mileage FJ's Out There?

We have 38,000 miles and no issues. My next door neighbor has a Fj as well.....yes two houses in a row with fj's..... And has almost 90,000 with absolutely no issues. He drove it to Mexico and Texas quite a few times and we live in illinois.

Re: Any High Mileage FJ's Out There?

My 2008 is 35 months old, and I have 78,000 miles. Only issues have been minor. If someone stole it, I'd replace it was another FJ, same day the insurance check cleared. My FJ is the perfect vehicle for me. (ok, it would be nice if it got better mileage, but I knew what would happen when I started hanging skids, sliders and a winch on it!)

Ok, I would like to point something out about the windshield.

The almost verticle angle does not deflect debris as well as most modern windows.
Thus .... allow more room between you and other vehicles.
However,
IMHO it helps make it easier to see out of in the rain and doesn't waste space or expose as much of the interior to sun rays.

Not to derail but I had a 73 Ford Bronco, that my father bought new, and with its fairly straight up and down windshield, I Never had the problems I have with the FJ. I had around 180,000 when I finally sold it and replaced the front windshield, one (1) time.
