Build date is located here . . .

A number of members have been recently asking about the location of the build date on their FJ's.

Open the driver's door, look on the face of the "suicide door" behind it, and there will be a mounted black placard. (Please excuse the PopTart crumbs on the floor. )

On the upper right corner of the placard is your build date, designated by month and year.

(BTW, if yours has an 2006 build date, you might want to check out this thread: Engine Bay Body Rips )

Guess mine is an old one 01/06. Any idea what the letter A in the bottom right means? My truck has Canadian Sticker and has B in the bottom right corner.

Re: Build date is located here . . .

04/06 build date. A month later it had made it over on the boat and was sitting at my house.

Thanks for the info- I'd seen the data plate, but never seen the date listed on there before.

Too bad we have to settle for a build MONTH. It would be nice to be able to narrow down to an actual build date range via your V.I.N. (of course, you'ld never be able to tell if yours was built at 5:00 p.m. on a Friday.)

Rep points to you.
