07 FJ Gets 5 Stars for Safety!

Just not great for rollovers, but we know the truth about that.

Re: 07 FJ Gets 5 Stars for Safety!

I was wondering what the rollover rating was. Three stars seems to be the norm for SUVs. Considering the FJ's higher ground clearance than most, that's pretty good.

Re: 07 FJ Gets 5 Stars for Safety!

does the rating have to do with how much damage is caused in a roll over or how easy or likely it is for the vehicle to roll (i.e. high center of gravity)?

Re: 07 FJ Gets 5 Stars for Safety!

the rollover rating is how likely a vehicle is to roll.

In NHTSA testing, no SUV has earned a top five-star rating. Under the ratings system, a vehicle with five stars has a rollover risk of less than 10%. A four- star vehicle has a 10% to 20% risk and a three-star vehicle has a 20% to 30% risk.
