Kidds and the FJ, how goes it!

So all you non-demographic target folks out there with kids. How do the kids like ridding in the back? I’ve got and 8 year old and am still wondering how he will like the back seat. I have a blue one on order but am still not positive I’m taking it. Also just saw my first blue FJ yesterday and boy it sure is bright. Being older I may have to switch to silver – match my beard and all.

PS I’ve been lurking for months and thanks for all the great info and a laugh or two

My kids love our FJ. Every time we go somewhere they say let's take the FJ. If you have another vehicle it's going to get lonely and feel abandoned. At least my T-100 feels that way. Get the blue one and have fun!

Re: Kidds and the FJ, how goes it!

I have twins boys (9yrs) who loves my black diamond FJ a lot. But I know sitting in the back could get unpleasant sometimes. Small windows at the back makes it dark and plus they dont get good view of the outside especially on long drives. If the back windows were at least operable it wouldve been better. So my solution is a portable dvd player, PS2 ready.

I have 2 boys (7 & 12).... They both love daddys new FJ, but the younger one has a hard time seeing out. I dont think it matters any more because they play their gameboys or watch movies every where we go.

ps. If Bostonian bothers you.......... we can put him back in the jar!!

How about those with younger ones still in car seats? My 8mo old should be switching to a forward facing seat in 3-4 months but I'm guessing it will still be hell trying to load her in either style seat.

I have three that are in car seats (twin 5 year olds in boosters and a baby in a full seat). I was nervous too, not about them liking it, but about them fitting in it. They fit fine and absolutely love it. In fact, when ever I get home they all 3 get in to play! The lack of windows doesnt seem to bother them at all.

A funny thing is that my wifes MDX had 55" of hip room and the FJ is 51", yet the car seats fit much better in the FJ.

I haven't had a probelm with car seats - actually, it's pretty roomy if you can believe that. Only problem is getting out of the car when parked in a parking lot full of non-fj drivers. things get a little tight when you have to open all door to retrieve the kids. You can always use the rear door.
