Same here. (Probably Prescott Valley area.) How many more years to you have??
Eight years 'till I'm eligible, but it all depends on the children and when I can successfully boot them outta the nest. I'm sure the FJ will last 'till my retirement. The wife seems to like Northern New Mexico since she's from Colorado. I still have a lot of family in and around the Phoenix area. Once a desert rat always a desert rat. Only time will tell.
Were are you serving at now?

Yep, I'm a desert rat, too. (I really miss the mountains. )

I'm with the DHS's Federal Law Enforcement Training Center here in Georgia. With my military and federal service time prior to SFPD, I can retire (again) from here in August of next year. Trouble is, this particular gig is going to be a real hard one to give up . . . . it's way too much fun.

Re: Cops with FJ's

Congrats to all the brothers and sisters out there who are retired or about to. I too will soon be in the retired ranks. April '08 I retire after 30 years. LandCruiserSteve congrats to you for your double retirement I worked with a couple guys that just retired for the second time. You have certainly given your all to God and Country.

I currently work as a Sgt. for Ontario PD (that's Calif. eh). I already bought a home in the Black Hills of South Dakota just outside of Rapid City. There are some awesome trails in the hills and I will be exploring a few of those after I retire. I also am going to be an intrepid explorer roughing it in my 5th wheel as my wife and I travel the country. Working on a way to take the FJ along.

I did not necessarily get the FJ because I am a cop, but it does fit in with my mentality that after all these years of having to be responsible, I figure it is time for me to run around and do what I want for a change and have fun.

Anyway, here are a few of my pics. Enjoy.

Re: Cops with FJ's

CHP. I just bought my new FJ, Ti silver. Had a Jeep XJ. The Jeep was great, but I wanted the FJ.

Re: Cops with FJ's

6 years with the Renton Police just south of Seattle. Currently an FTO trying for the next K-9 position. Bought the FJ to get out and Explore the NW.......it has worked so far. I am also meeting some great people along the way.

All right!!

Good luck on getting on with the dogs. That was the second most desired detail in SF. (Believe it or not, walking beat had the longest waiting list.)
