Anyone notice that the FJ somehow catches more bugs on the windshield and the grille more than normal cars and trucks. I've been driving my pick-up and my bmw on the same highway for years... and i've notice some bugs here and there. No bug shield on any of the vehicles I drive. I've had my FJ for about 3 weeks and same highway on weekends... somehow, the amount of bugs smack onto my windshield and grille is amazingly high... say couple of hundreds on the windshield. Yes, I counted them all . Could it be cause of the flat windshield and the aerodynamics of our FJ is different. Even the Ez-pass for the toll doesn't work. The toll collector said it must be the flat vertical windshield.
Any comments ??
I totally agree with the toll collector. The bugs are worse in the evening and at night. I use more windshield washer fluid than gas. I went out and bought me one of those window cleaners with the sponge on one side and the squeege on the other. Hmmmmm! Could the bugs be the reason for the extra windshield wiper?

For what it's worth, my EZpass is mounted behind the rear view mirror. Works fine.
It was a design feature for the survivalist population. The accumulation of bug residue was considered a plus in case you ran out of food while on safari...

I'll have to agree with that tnegiet... bugs are an excellent source of protein.(but so is something else...)
As far as EZpass, if it's anything similar to our fastrak system in california where it's a square transponder that you attach to your windshield. A 3x3 square transponder unit, I had it mounted in the middle of my windshield, behind the rearview and it wouldn't take. I had to move my trasnponder to the lower left of my windshield for our system to recogize it in my FJ.
