Re: Attention: ALL Current FJC Owners !!!

I have an '08 FJ. I have seen several posts about a reinforcement plate that has been added to the fenders. I have looked at my truck and don't see any difference between mine and the photos I see here. Where is the reinforcement plate and how can I check mine to see if it is there?

Re: Attention: ALL Current FJC Owners !!!

Just checking in.

17,000 miles on my 2007.
Build date of 10-06.
Delivery date of 12-06
No mods of significance.
No off roading, (regrettably).

No bulges or rips to date.

It would be great if someone could post a picture of the reinforcement. I looked at an 08 last week and it looked just like my 07. When I talked to the salesmen at the dealership about the problem, they had no clue about the cracks. Of course they weren't aware of any windshield issues either.

show us the pictures you looked at. i may not be up to date on this fender bay bulge thing, but the last thing that i understood was that sometime during 2007 or early 2006, the fender design changed slightly from the original build FJs...the dimples and crumple area were changed.

original driver's side: (pics taken from this thread, ENGINE BAY BODY RIPS)

Revised driver's side: (notice the extra holes and dimples)

Re: Attention: ALL Current FJC Owners !!!

OK. Well, my '08 does look like the one in the second photo. Yes there is a difference between the ones in both photos. However, all I see are superficial changes (more holes, more dimples). I do not see any evidence of the "reinforcing plate", or any structural enhancement of any kind.

Someone please tell me specifically where is the reinforcement plate?
