Re: Attention: ALL Current FJC Owners !!!

I dont see any signs on my FJ which was built in 06. But I am not sure I am looking in the right place. Should I just take it to the dealer to get it checked out? Where should I be looking? Sorry if this is a stupid question

The dealer may not know what to look for, either. Are there any forum members near you who can help you check out your inner fender wells ?

If not, go to the first post in my signature thread, it has links to other threads related to this issue, and some have pics...

Not a stupid question at all, Seany. A good number of Toyota dealerships are not completely certain what to look for either.

There's quite a few examples and pics in the main "Engine Bay Body Rips" thread, but this is the area to be examined for both cracking and/or bulging. (Just forward of the hood hinge strut on both the driver and passenger sides.)

Re: Attention: ALL Current FJC Owners !!!

The important thing is to spread the word so that hopefully ALL FJC owners will be aware of this issue, inspect their vehicles, and have them repaired, if needed...

Thanks again Larry, I went to local FJ club meeting couple weeks ago & we did a show & tell on this issue. Most were not aware of it & some were very surprised to find there FJs had bulges. We also compared 07 to 08 inner fender wells & looks like they made some minor/visable changes.
