FJC owner or Offroader?

Do you own an FJC or take it offroad?

When I mean offroad. I mean off the beaten path. Somthing you have to put it in 4wd mode or at least sweat when you own a 4X2.

Re: FJC owner or Offroader?

I believe, on THIS forum at least, you will find more offroading enthusiasts than pimp-mobilers. I also believe that you will likely NOT find a large number of just regular-joe owners since they are unlikely to be so enthusiastic about their ride to subscribe to ANY forum on the matter. People who ARE enthusistic about a vehicle, like us, may not understand the apathy on the part of others, but we must face the fact that this the way things are. Hence the lack of a returned wave, or friendly nod, from most FJs I see in my travels. It's not that people are jerks, it's just that they probably don't know you are waving at them. Do Camry owners wave at each other?

I agree...both. The FJ is my daily driver, but I'm building it out for some decent off road capabilities too.

Re: FJC owner or Offroader?

If you could see the scratches on my rig you would not have to ask. I get out when i can and my gear selections run the available range.

Re: FJC owner or Offroader?

The FJ is like a sniper rifle. You are comfortable knowing that it's there if you need it. I traded in my '98 S-10 Blazer with 150,000 miles and no scratches. I check in on the forum everday. It's great to see and hear all the things my sniper rifle can do...... and I do wave to other Cruisers although my wife thinks it's lame.

Re: FJC owner or Offroader?

I am an owner. My FJC tows a 4-wheeler to the rough places. I have had both high centered, stuck in mud, and almost rolled over, but I'm just an owner. I have found some real off roaders back in the toolies with a real doubt of their sanity. Just an owner!!

Re: FJC owner or Offroader?

Never take the FJC off road? It's like going to the best steak house in town and ordering grilled cheese. I don't get it.
