Trd Edition

I am in the market for a new truck, the FJ is #1 on my list. I am really not a fan of the 2 tone paint. I see that Toyota made a TRD version that was all black. Do they still offer this optionl? If not does anyone know what I would approx pay to have the roof painted to match? My current truck is a H2 I am really looking forward to purchasing a very cool and more gas friendly truck.

Painting a black diamond would not be a cool thing to do...if you want black on black, search hard to find a TRD Special Edition...at lenox around here there is some kid who painted his Black Diamonds roof black...I'm not too fond of him, since seeing fellow TRD owners is rare and you always want to wave to them, then you notice that its someone who has just painted the roof which fools you....

Are all TRD owners offended when someone paints their roof the same color as the body? What is the deal with this? Isn't imitation the most sincere form of flattery?
Plus whose to say they want to try and make a TRD edition lookalike, why can't other people own solid color FJ's as well. IMO, it's your truck, mod it how you want. (just don't be that guy that makes it into a convertible and trys to sell it on ebay for 50K)
thread hijacking over.
Search this forum and ebay and im sure you will find at least one TRD owner looking to part.

Jeesh guys, you're putting him on - right? I hope so. If not, maybe we can get the mods to create a new category - TRD snobs.

BTW, welcome BLFJ. Buy a rig and do to it whatever makes YOU happy - and don't worry about the naysayers.

Re: Trd Edition

I like the white roof and the way it keeps the interior much cooler in the summer. I would guess that's why it's painted white in the first place.
