TRD Big Brakes

Just ordered 08 Titanium Sliver with everything. Should I add the TRD Big Brake kit?

Nope.
x2

The stock FJ brakes are very beefy and are actually over-built. Keep the stock eqpt. in this case.

Re: TRD Big Brakes

Here's my opinion. I have the Big Brakes. They're sick. Stops the truck on a dime. That being said, the stock brakes are very good on the FJ Cruiser. I took several test rides in ones that had the stock brakes and was impressed with them. The dealership that I bought my FJ at gave me a rediculous deal on a fully loaded (with all of the TRD goodies) truck so I got the TRD brakes for free basically. They are really good at stopping the FJ but the stock ones are also very capable. If you have the money do the Big Brakes. If you're tight on cash I would feel just fine with the stock brakes. Oh and by the way, I also have the TRD exhaust. That I don't like. Too loud and not loud in a way that I think sounds cool. If it had a lower meaner sound I guess that would be okay but it's just loud in a not powerful sounding kinda way. Just a drone that I don't find that exciting. One man's opinion - I don't want to piss anyone off who has it. I'm living with it because I have read that the performance/acceration/whatever is improved by having it. And the tail pipe looks great, too. lol

Re: TRD Big Brakes

before you buy the big brake kit, you have to find out if they are compatible with the 17" or 16" wheels.

i know Air2air has after-market brakes (not sure if trd or not) and the smallest wheel he can run are 18"s.

They are StopTech 355mm big brakes kit and, yes 18's are the smallest fitment.
