In preparation for the first issue of FJC Magazine, my wonderful wife (Angie) had a great idea:
We'd like to feature photos of FJ's from around the country 'wheeling local'. For example, Colorado FJ's will obviously be pictured in the mountains. AZ FJ's in the desert, UT FJ's on slick rock, etc., etc.
For the urban FJ's: Interesting photos of your rig in the city.
Hopefully you get the idea
We'd like to put at least 4 photos on the back cover of each issue....so the more the merrier
Please send your pics to my e-mail (look under my profile). The highest resolution you can find (at least 3mp), so that your pics are nice & clear.
Deadline for consideration for the first issue will be 25 Nov 2007. If you're photo doesn't make the first issue, we may use it for subsequent issues.

I understand that if you're a professional photographer you're used to selling your photos. However, since FJC Magazine is a free publication - and not making any money - we can't pay for use of photos. The photographer, of course, retains all rights to any photos and proper credit will be given.

Hope this answers your question.
Even free publications almost always have to pay for photos, illustrations and written articles.
And you do intend to try and make money from the FJC magazine, right? You are trying to sell advertising in it, right?
And if you publish the Magazine under the "Creative Commons" license, than the photographer might really lose many of their rights.
I already sent you an email, because I did not really want to hash this out here.
In fact, this will be my last post here about this, unless there is something that is really weird... lol :-)

Thanks for the heads up Paul...
With that in mind, does anyone want to submit a photo they THEY own to FJC Magazine? If we ever get sponsors, I promise to try to score free swag for you
I will get you something from here in New Orleans. Probably the French Quarter or something other folks might recognize. Yeah, you can have mine, I am cool with it.
