That Sucks Tony, sorry about all the problems buddy. I hate it when people think they can take advantage of someone...With Business practices like that, they won't stay in business very long..

Wow, Tony. Having to deal with this crap on top of everything else that's happened.

Take it to heart, I WILL NOT patronize that business.

Word of mouth is a very powerful tool in business. It can go either way. Do great, like so many of our vendor's here, and get rewarded with revenue. Screw up, and good bye $$$.

Thanks for sharing.
I remember lying in bed and thinking about my wheels. Wifey won't let me go check them out and I couldn't ask her to bring them to me. I've wanted these so badly for so long that I almost sneaked down. It was horrible timing. I would've responded to them immediately but you know, @$#% happends. Thanks for reading!

ANy vendor that claims CNC machining tolerences of 1/4" are acceptable should not be permitted to fabricate a square block of material. CNC tolerences are measured in
.001 of an inch, that's thousandths!!! I would take any money I can get back and run.
I know! The board said the same thing when I first posted about CNC machining. Unfortunately, there is no money to be recovered except to try and use it as is.

Tony - sorry for your troubles, but thanks a million for the warning! They will get no business from me.

It sounds like Discover cards are useless too! I guess I'll use Visa for any purchase I haven't seen first. In fact, I'm going to call them up, ask them if they will withhold/reimburse payments in situations like this, and if not, I'll cancel my card!

Good luck getting this resolved to your satisfaction.
Discover Card is a story all by itself. They've had agents who talked to me who are cleary not qualified. They can't seem to get facts straight and don't remember what my issue was. They've let me talk to the wrong "department" for minuts before transferring me. They want me to send back the wheels without any kind of warranty about resolving the issue. After know how Beadlock Specialties work, would I dare to send it back and hope I'll get resolution? Shame on me for trusting them once, but do it again? I think not!

Don't trust the credit card companies to protect you-Discover or whoever else.

Re: Vendor Warning: Beadlock Specialties

I can imagine this is very frustrating and feel for you. I am curious about the ink (writing) on the beadlocks -- does that come off? If it does, why wouldn't they clean it off before they shipped them? If it doesn't come off, I don't see how they can even sell them that way. They are sweet looking -- if you decide to mount them, give us a pic!

I was told by a person on TTORA that if the plate is polished, it's very likely it's a 1/2inch plate. Also there might be markings on it stating that it's 1/2inch plate. I'll look around tonight. Supposedly the marking will come off with when scrubbed with a scrounge pad. I'm getting the wheels tapped for Powertank Monster Valves and should be installing them this weekend with the help of Mir207 and Mudloving FJ. I'll post pictures once it's all done.

I like the wheels, just don't like the service and lies. Although they are not as thick as what I've asked for, they are still at 1/2 inch. Most rings are 3/8th inch. Meh.

No ****. 1/4in being in tolerance is complete Bull****.

Hell, I consider being 1/4in off to not even be tolerable when I am ripping Ply wood by hand, with a Dull as hell saws-all blade, While holding a beer in one hand, and my wifes Butt in the other.

Thanks for the heads up. I had considered using their services when I go to get new wheels and tires, Now I know better. Good luck getting it all 100% correct.

I'm done dealing with them. There's nothing left to do but to warn others.

So the mods at Pirate4x4 undeleted my post. Yay!

Take a look at some of the responses here.

Re: Vendor Warning: Beadlock Specialties

Sorry to hear of your troubles with this shop. I started to laugh about the shop's claim of 1/4" tolerance... I can understand if they were machining these rings using an ax.

Where are these 'stains' that you've mentioned? Are you referring to the black print on the surface? If so, definitely do not use a scouring pad to remove it as it will scratch up the surface... unless you're after that 'brushed' look. Simply take some brake cleaner and it should come right off without any fuss... this is assuming the knuckle heads didn't clear coat it.
