i just picked up my FJ a week ago. going over a few things ive noitced that there are two holes where a licence plate or licence plate bracket should be. they are DEFINATLY not factory as you can see the gouges inside the hole from the screws. we dont need a front plate here in saskatchewan, and vanity plates are tacky as hell.
my question is i dont like the holes, im picky. how should i bring this up to the dealer? should i get it replaced? or should i just forget about it? i know this will bug me.... thanks for the input.

Get them to fix/replace it. The dealership probably had one their tacky dealer promo license plates hanging off the front end. If the holes don't belong there, it's their responsibility to make them go away . . . it's not what you paid $30k to $35k of your hard-earned money for.
X2 on what LandCruiserSteve said. Take it back and show then.
I assume the stock bumpers have dimple holes in the front bumper (mine does) where you would drill to install a front plate. They're just not drilled out, so no obvious holes in the front bumper.

You bet! Take it back to the dealer and let them know you would like a bumper without holes. This, of course, is assuming you purchased the vehicle brand new, not "reconditioned." If it was purchased new, you shouldn't have a problem getting them to replace it. Hopefully, if they end up having to eat a bumper, they'll learn not to "predrill" them.
If the dealer does not fix it, I have used (2) small black plastic push pins in the past to fill holes in vehicles I have owned and basically the issue pretty much goes away. These little push pins can usually be purchased at a well stocked hardware store or an auto parts store.

Ya the vehicle is new... ill go back and lean on them to fix it, but if i can tell that its gonna be a big stinkfest then i just might put the push pins in, good idea.
but i mean they should catch this stuff beforehand. theres scratches on the windshield on the drivers upper left side. im sure they were using a razor blade or an olfa knife to remove some stickers or some ****. also the safty release on the hood was bent and wasnt even hooked under the hood, it was bent forward and scratched the hell out of the front of the underside of the hood. ive been satisfiied, but as soon as i washed it the first time i noticed all these things. piss me off.
thanks everyone for the advice, its going in on monday for the brushguard and ill tell them about these issues.
Where I live, we do use front plates. When I picked up the new FJ, the original screws holding on the front dealer-propaganda-plate, had really lame fine threaded screws that looked like sheet-rock screws. I wish they'd come up with better ways to incorporate required licenses into the design of a vehicle.
I'd get them to give you a couple of the body hardware push-in type plugs. They won't look bad and it beats the 'detail' guy trying to fill them in with black silicone.

Ya, took the dealer plate off the front of mine the day I brought it home. So 2 holes where wood screws pulled the plastic up. Haven't done anything to fix it. But like others said, the plastic push pins for trim panels should make it look okay.
I also took the dealers decal off the rear door. I don't remember them paying me to advertise for them.
