Reprogramming door locks?

First of all, Happy New Year to everyone.

Now, I have a question about reprogramming the key fob and door locks.

If I press the unlock button once on my key fob, the drivers door unlocks. If I press the unlock button twice in quick succession, the passenger door and rear door unlock.

According to page 12 of my owners manual:

"This double switch operation to unlock all the side doors and back door can be changed to a single switch operation. For details, contact your Toyota dealer."

Does anybody know how to perform this mod? I would really like to have my key fob set up so that a single push of the unlock button will unlock every door. I was planning to contact the dealer but I figured I'd ask here first.

I've done a search but found nothing.

Thanks..........
Wilkie

I don't find it TOO difficult to push the button twice. .......
I really don't understand how this is a problem.

Yep, it is something that has to be done by a dealership's programming device. Takes about 3 minutes to do, and they won't charge you for doing it.

Re: Reprogramming door locks?

yeah the double beep is a pain, especially when you might be sneaking home late from a college night out and you park right next to your parent's bedroom.....not that I've done this or anything...

Re: Reprogramming door locks?

If you don't want the beep all that you have to do is push the door lock switch on the door panel and close the door no annoying beep and you are in stealthy.

A key in your wallet solves that problem in seconds. ...
