Re: good luck getting stuff from Donahoe

i have a feeling all this was a misunderstanding, im sure it was a different guy on the child porn case, plus how does one find that list anyway, someone must have been real bored.

DylanDr, I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but the issue of the Child Porn was never addressed.

I don't think it makes any difference how good their products are if the rumors are confirmed. There is too much competition in the marketplace these days for that kind of bad PR. If someone was to take over (family, KC, whatever) I think their best option right now would be to continue manufacturing great stuff and re-brand the DR name. Name recognition is a bad thing when it is associated with something terrible like this. It will cost them some $$ and some time to get the new name out, but IF these rumors are true I think a re-brand will be the only thing to save them. Keep in mind people, that if there was this type of activity going on, it wasn't everyone at the shop. I'd be wiling to bet it was only one guy (If it is indeed true). If true and they do decide to move forward and shed the name of the currently alleged offender, it would be very narrow-minded to avoid a great product just because someone was once associated with it messed up big time.

If this is shown to be false there is already a lot of damage being done all across the internet as we speak to the Donahoe name. I can't even imagine how the guy feels (or any of his employees) reading all of this if it is all some lame coincidence.

Stay tuned everyone. The facts will be presented. In which time I invite you all to pass your own judgement and (maybe) sentencing. Until then, don't get too caught up in the media hype (internet rumor mill).

Donahoe Racing “a corporation” and “an individual” buy that last name are entirely different.

A corporation can not be charged with a “human” action such as this.

I am not a lawyer but I do know that the company has none of these legal issues. I am however an engineer (and a personal fan of Toyotas) and will continue to make top of the line products wherever I am. I agree with you that society will draw a connection and a conclusion without cause and it can damage the reputation. If the brand is compromised I will remove the product from it.

The restructure has everything to do with building and supplying product better and faster and nothing to do with the speculation above. The product has been difficult for you to get your hands on in the past months and our ability to give the growing Toyota crowd the customer service that we expect of ourselves needs some extra horsepower. We must improve as you grow!!!

See - this is actually a financial restructure to relieve them of burdens that kept their superior product in a bottleneck. I think 2008 will be double the sales because their demand has always been far ahead of the production constraints.

I predict it will be a really exciting DR year both in deliveries and in new products. Nobody said it was easy. Look at what Total Chaos has been through - and they're back 100%.

Re: good luck getting stuff from Donahoe

I will link to that last post if I see anyone spreading rumors.
Maybe we should watch this thread and bump it for a bit. It seems you boys over at DR will have a little damage control to do on the forums.

I agree with Air2air on the intellectual property issue. It is one of your most valuable assets if you can keep it intact. Last year googles brand (just the name google) jumped in value 77% to become the #1 most powerful (i.e. expensive) brand at 66.434 BILLION dollars. (That is just the name friends, assets would cost you extra).
The Donahoe name has power in the off-road world. It's lame that people start making things up, or mudslinging a good COMPANY. It could work out to free publicity for you as the internet buzzes the name a bit.
I'm happy to hear that the restructure will be eliminating some of the manufacturing issues that so many off-road companies seem to be plagued with. I will be looking closely at your lineup now that christmas is over and I am scraping together some change.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Air2air I am new to the whole marketing world, but I'm trying to get a good solid handle on it. (I understand that you know a little about it ) I realize that not everyone that will possibly buy from Donahoe participates in a forum like this, but are you saying you don't think scandal (true or not) will affect them? Or are you saying that since scandal will affect them somewhat, it will be easier for the fewer people that do buy from them to get product because the demand will be down and they will be able to fill those orders more easily? Or do you refer to some un-cited inside information about the company's direction, unrelated to any internet rumors.
maybe this is too far off-topic, if so let me know & I'll edit it.
Well, I know zero about the scandal besides this thread. I have only been commenting on the the financial reorg. Rapidly growing product companies this size typically hit these barriers when credit lines among suppliers and customers stretch the company too tight.

Picture your left arm being pulled by your distributors and resellers, who would like to take forever to pay you, and then your right arm being pulled by your suppliers who delay deliveries or screw up in one way or another. You will end up stretched like Gumby. Being a rapidly growing company, the problem is worse because your sales demand (and the amount you have to order from your vendors) is always a larger number than your accounts receivable.

So you end up in a domino effect, where your orders are piling up faster than your receipts from last month. And offroad in particular has horrible problems with ontime payment. Demello is the only guy I know who pays his suppliers immediately. That's unheard of.

This is usually solved by private equity financing and that's probably what they did. It will be a gigantic burden lifted from the company and they can all get back to work now.

Hope that helps with your question, geri - it's all I know about on the DR subject. I've been there a few times and Kreg and Dylan have attempted to give my truck a good beatdown....

Donahoe Racing has NOT closed the doors!

We are however going through a restructure

Myself and the rest of the dedicated staff are committed to bringing the off-road community the best products we can!

Creating top of the line suspension products is what I do, regardless of anodizing color or location!

Expect to see quality products, new products and features, and support of your existing dr product in the future

Thank you for your support
Dylan Evans
dedicated staff lol I personally know at least 3 of the people that were laid off and, if you think there dedicated after recieving only a few bucks when owed 2 weeks pay your blowing some serious smoke up peoples... Why don't you respond directly to the case involving Kreag and, Laying EVERYONE off? Without all the b.s.?

I'm closing this thread until this is cleared up. DylanDR has already stated his answers and anything else is speculation and is serving no purpose except to ruffle feathers.
