Question Back Door Paint Inside (Do You have a painted white top???)

I was recently rear ended at 55 mph on the highway. The back door on my 2007 FJ was replaced. The door was repainted with the inside of the door the original black and the top ~3" white. I beleive that this is how it was when I bought it. However, I've been cruising ebay and I've seen FJ's without the white paint on the upper part of the back door, on the inside (interior side). Some of the sellers claim "no accidents". Is there some FJs that are all one color on the inside of the rear door (besides the obvious TRD edition), but still white on the outside?

Just curious. Also, the shop that painted my door did a lousy job of making that inside white painted section "level" or even. Should I have the whole thing redone, even though you don't really see it unless you look?

Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the forum!!

Yes, have the shop fix their screw-up!!

Yes, our FJ has the white at the top of the door both inside and out. Do the one's on e-bay that you are referring to have the white roof or have they had the roof painted to match the body??

Re: Back Door Paint Inside (Do You have a painted white top???)

I have my Fj since May 2006 no accidents and inside the rear cargo door upper part is blue the only white is about a 1/4 inch from the reverse side. Only portion of the cargo door that is white to follow the roof color is outside. Jusy go to a dealer and check one out.

Question Re: Back Door Paint Inside (Do You have a painted white top???)

Ebay:

item 230220229678

Check out the pick of the rear door...

item 250214580954

And again...

The first one says never in accident. Second doesn't make the claim, but has all blue inner door. I guess its tough to make the repaint on the inside (judging by how my repaint turned out) and some shops aren't doing the white?

I can't post the true links b/c I have less than 4 posts. Sorry.

Re: Back Door Paint Inside (Do You have a painted white top???)

I've had two brand new Voodoo Blue FJC''s each rear door's interior was painted differently at the factory. The old one was all blue inside, the newer one was white to match. Probably just an adjustment made to improve efficiency or for looks?
