Possible to add on ATRAC?

Hey all-

OK so getting veeeeery close to purchasing my FJ and trying to nail down some final details. EXCITED!!!

I'm considering the "Option Package B" which is just the convenience package plus the locking differential.

I really don't want or need all the other frilly options packages - and notably I don't want the multi-information display that all the other packages seem to have.

Is it possible to ADD ON the ATRAC if I already have the locking differential? I've seen a few posts around mentioning that as long as you have the locking diff - it's just a matter of adding on the $50 button?... but no real details.

Is this true? Something the dealer can add on I assume? Really just adding the button?

thanks much!

Re: Possible to add on ATRAC?

If you have the locking diff, get the switch and bingo, it works throught the ABS computer but it needs the locker cpu to communicate with the ABS cpu

Re: Possible to add on ATRAC?

There is plenty of details in a handful of posts. Matter of fact there is a post with pictures that explains to you how to install the button. Yes all you need is the $60 button and to install it. (as longs as you have rear diff.)

Re: Possible to add on ATRAC?

Its so easy!! I did it w a pocket knife while on the trail today...saw a 45 degree upward angled hill covered in snow and mud, digger opened his window looked and me and said you might need this, handed me a switch. I jumped back in my FJ popped out the blank, the wires are attached to the back of the blank and hooked it up. less than 30 seconds.

Re: Possible to add on ATRAC?

Yup! Count my FJ as another successful ATrac self-install. Do a search of the forum. There's a lot of information on this topic...
