Just got back from Israel. What a great country for many things, including offroading. The northern part of the country is where the bulk of the population is. The lower half of the country is the Negev desert which has many cooperative farms and archeological sites. Great place for an offroading park. Although you can do 4x4 Jeep offroading in parts of the Golan (up north,) there seems yet to be no formal offroading area in the Negev. And yes, the FJ Cruiser has arrived in the Promised Land. (Check at the pix of the FJ and other 4x4s in and around Israel.)
And yes it snowed in Jerusalem while I was there WITHOUT MY FJ. Boo hoo!

The Palestinians will need them now as well to maintain the balance of off-roading power.
What will happen when they discover mods? Each faction will be struggling to have the coolest FJ's. Some will go for light weight FJC's and others (presumably the Israeli Army) will want their FJC's to look like Merkava's. The mod war, the struggle for coolest FJ could get out of hand.

Cool. When I was there about 18 mos ago, I did see a few FJ's in Haifa.
My buddy there wanted an FJ when it came out but he couldn't stomach the import costs. He ended up getting the new Prado and had custom under armor, bumpers, air compressor, rails, etc built for it.

An Israeli Palestinian "mod war." Now that's a great idea. That would certainly me a lot more fun than these border clashes. May the best 4 x 4 win.
