Another Garmin mount solution
I bought a nuvi 650 and used the suction cup to mount it in the left corner of the dash but it would come loose after a week or so.
I removed the suction cup in the mount by pushing the bin out.
I bought a 1/4 x 2" tine-pin. a 1/4 x 1-1/4 fender washer and rubber hose washer.
drilled a hole in the speaker cover so the tine-pin fit.
put the fender washer and rubber hose washer on the tine-pin inserted it from under the cover and reinstalled the pin in the Garmin mount.
I cut the Tine-pin after fitting so it isn't sticking up.
It holds firm now and I know it wont fall off.
cost me about $3.50 to make and works well.
See photos attached.

Very clever and it doesn't appear to impede your vision. i put mine on the silver plate next to steering wheel, it works pretty good and I don't have to take my eyes off the road hardly at all.
good job!

By the way, I applaud your garage orginizational skills.
Nice brain work on spotting and executing that mounting location.

Re: Another Garmin mount solution
I doubt my Garmin 2620 will work using that mount (it's heavier and bulkier, compared to the newer generation GPS's!).
But, when I get a new one I'll be using your mod, for sure. Kudos for the great idea!
