Here's the link to the site, haven't read it through yet. Hope this hasn't been covered before, flame me to death if it has, I don't care...

Re: Has this been covered? Old FJ concept truck

This vehicle was featured on the Toyota web-site about 4 years ago as a concept car. The plan was to include the V8 Tundra engine in a re-creation of the original FJ.

THIS is what got me real interested in the whole idea of a "new FJ"!

Somehow, the plan changed along the way to become the FJ Cruiser. I'm damn glad it did. The other idea would have been priced at $60K+.

I'm sure somebody else can shine brighter light on this whole story....

Saw an article about that rig several years ago. It's awesome in my eye! Built by Steve Millen, I believe. (haven't read the link...just going off memory) I think it's absolutely gorgeous. I had contemplated grafting an FJ-45 longbed pickup body onto a Tacoma chassis...similar idea. Luckily, the FJ Cruiser came out before I got tied up in a huge project like that!

Rod Millen. Ooops. Memory's not so good, then.

I bet good money you'll be seeing some versions of it when the FJC gets turned into a real four door mommy ute.
