Angry Ticked off!!!!

Just got my new Voodoo Blue FJ yesterday and somebody has already gotten me! Went to get in my car for a great drive home this pm and found a 3 inch crease (dent) in the rightside back door at an angle like this. ( / ) Boy was I ticked and don't know how it happened but... Now a decision to be made - fix or not fix. It is noticable at the right angle (view), no paint scrape or chip. Harder to see looking straight on but I know it there. Can the body shop repair like new without costing arm and a leg or should I just forget it and drive on. Thoughts? Just unbelievable and stomach still in knots!!! Also FWIW, my dealer is picking FJ up in a.m. to install rock rails and drop hitch.

Re: Ticked off!!!!

Let them pick it up, don't say a word... When you go to get it back scream WTF! LOOK AT THIS DENT! They'll blame the kid who picked it up, he'll get fired, you get your FJ fixed. Or consider going to your insurance company and paying your deductible.
Sorry to hear about your FJ, nothing worse than that first ding.

Re: Ticked off!!!!

God I hate that sh&t. My worst pet peeve....if anyone is gonna mess it up, it should be me, on the trail. I can't accept the parking in lots in smaller and smaller spaces...it's just nuts...I'm really lucky in that we have a parking garage at work and I'm one of the first people to arrive m-f so I get a parking spot that is between two large concrete poles. The other two guys that have FJ's always park in the spaces adjacent to mine or as close as possible...I think we have the same feeling about it...FJ does not harm FJ...

where did I see that? Oh right...planet of the apes...

Thats bad karma!!! what a jerk, you would let some kid get fired to save yerself money, and not even think about it, you must work at a fast food resturant. This is also and why insurance costs so much. dishonest people cause us honest people who earn a honest living alot of money!

Chill gahndi, it was a joke. Try using your intellect to find a solution instead of firing off childish retorts replete with colorful insults. Calling the man's insurance company to make a claim isn't the reason we all pay high insurance premiums. Isn't this a good example of why we have insurance?

No but the Dealer would, pass it on to a insurance company. I got a idea tell the kid to say he got hurt, trying to fix the dent, and claim workmans comp!!
Hey its a joke, but alot of people do it, I think they are pond scum!! It seems something youd do, esp with the snide remarke calling me gahndi, for calling you out on it.

????Breathe buddy, you called me a jerk I'd say Gahndi is a compliment. The fact remains - it was a joke and you need to relax.

I totally agree, bad karma indeed. Personally getting that first dent out of the way usually makes me feel better. Kinda like breaking it in. Plus scratches and dent build character. Women like character.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate incident. FWIW, there are paintless dent removal companies that can remove the dent for you at a much lower cost then a body shop. Do a google search for paintless dent removal and see if there is a company in your area that will give you a free estimate. I had a baseball sized dent taken out of a car and you would never know it was there. Cost me $80. The body shop was $1200.

Re: Ticked off!!!!

You might try a paintless dent repair guy first since the paint is ok.
