Clearance issues with lift, tires, and roof rack

Was wondering what everyone with lifts, and roof racks and oversize tires do for parking? Around here in LA, a lot of the parking is inside structures, and alot of times they are at a height of 6'8"

Do you guys just circle the block till you find street parking?

Pretty much. It's a pain, but it goes with the territory

Re: Clearance issues with lift, tires, and roof rack

When I travel to the big cities I have to find street parking because I don't fit into the parking garages.

Your SOL if your lifted 6" run 35's and have a roof rack! I measured the highest point of my rig on level ground and she measured 7' 10" so I'm always careful where I park now.

I have a 6" lift and 35" tires with no roof rack, and i clear 6'8". I did not have to change my parking or anything, its just that i can't add the All pro rack
Good Luck

all parking garages are not equal

Mine is in the shop today getting an OME 885/895 lift. I am staying with stock 32" 265 tires because I only have 3" of clearance in my parking garage at work. Such is life, the lift and roof rack are more important to me than parking in a garage, so if I have to park topside after the lift, so be it.

Re: Clearance issues with lift, tires, and roof rack

I have the 3" OME lift on stock 17" rims and tires. With the OEM rack plus my Coleman basket mod I allow 7' or 84". It can be a pain at times but hey I knew that was going to be life with my FJ. Hubby's Titan has real trouble with the 7' bed so we usually just try for on street parking if we go into New Orleans. Don't habit other cities with our rigs that much.
