I Am So Offended!!!

That's a phrase that I dont think I have every used before. I dont get offended. Even when people mean to give offence I dont take it. And I certainly dont find offence when its not intended. TODAY THAT CHANGED! I took my kids to a little kids fishing day down at a local pond and had a nice time and afterwards was loading up the FJ when some dude walked by and said...

"I like your van."

i was stunned... i said "What?"
surely my ears had decieved me...

he said... "I like your van."

i was in shell shock... i watched in disbelief as he walked away and got into his Honda Accord.

I have never been so offended in my life...

Oh, I don't think any harm was meant. Considering the source, he probably was too dumbfounded figuring out what the FJ is, and in his world, if it isn't a car, it's a 'van'. Just laugh it off... Like someone saying that's a good hamburger to a nice steak dinner -- they just don't know better.

My guess is he was slamming you intentionally. He knows it's not a van....he also probably knows that calling a 4x4 SUV a "van" is intended to be an insult. He probably drives a Jeep or jacked up fullsize 4x4 too and since your taste doesn't match his own, you are beneath him. Least that's how I'd take it.

Ignore it....if it's the way I described or if he was genuinely sincere....he's a moron and that means his opinion is worthless.
