Re: How does one get permission for others to off road on their land?
WHat about not charging, but don't allow coolers and open a snack shop type place? Maybe put up a few little cabins? That might make you some money and skirt around some of the biggest hurdles. By the way, I'm in wester north carolina if you need some one to test drive!

thank you, helpful friends a) for your time and consideration and b) for not banning me and/or turning this thread into a discussion of why Obama is, say, too __________ (i don't know, i can't think of anything wrong with him) to be president. I appreciate it.
i called a bunch of off road parks and bluntly asked them how they did it. They all told me to call my lawyer.

Good luck, but dealing with counties and local governments and pissed off neighbours can be taxing, and take a long long time. Been there, done that and do it for a living for my clients (land development, planning, engineering etc.) so we have run the whole gambit, all the time. However, laws are way different here in Canada. I can understand what you are going through... Good luck to you my friend!
Re: How does one get permission for others to off road on their land?
i was thinking about this one day and thought i found a cute little loophole. not sure how bulletproof it is though.. I thought what if you posted signs that said, like no trespassing or no offroading. But didn't say anything when FJ guys or whoever comes along. Now say if they have an accident or whatever, you can easily just say. Oh there are signs so i'm not liable for whatever "trespassers" do. But when asked if you want to press charges, of course it's a no. And if you wanted to make money i'm sure you can "give" people some water bottles or passes to the park, and "hope" for a donation this is all hypothetically speaking of course :P sorry if this sounds dumb, brewed from a teenage mind
