Unhappy anyone's fj need major repairs due to an accident?

My Fj got hit while in a parking lot at work... The lady who hit me apparently got confused between the throttle and the brake . She hit 2 cars; Then, backed in to my car (full throttle), and pushed my car into 2 other cars... In total 5 cars were damaged. My car had the most (16,000 dollars worth). But repairs are well underway! The doors have already been pre-fitted. So it shouldn't be too much longer...3 weeks maybe.

Sorry to hear about that ...10,000 dollars! Mind if I ask what was replaced? 10,000 for doors is a wee bit pricey

Re: anyone's fj need major repairs due to an accident?

The damage also includes at least two tires, one or two wheels, both front seats, possibly the dash board (from flying glass).. the picture I attatched, only includes repairs to the side that was hit ; the other side hit two cars as well and also has body damage.. There is also mechanical damage due to the fact that the car was pushed sideways several feet.

Re: anyone's fj need major repairs due to an accident?

I had the same question as njfj regarding parts availability. Did you try to get them to "total" the vehicle so you weren't stuck with a repaired rig?

Re: anyone's fj need major repairs due to an accident?

Sorry about your FJ, that sucks.
I thought they only "total" a vehicle if the repair costs are more than it's worth?

Re: anyone's fj need major repairs due to an accident?

Having a car "totaled" depends on the insurance company and liability. Sometimes it's cheaper to make it go away and negate ongoing costs/liability.
