My last thread

To all fellow FJs,

Just wanted to say goodbye...I will be leaving the forum for reasons of principle. Lord knows with my big mouth that it will be a lot quieter around here...for a little while!

I thank you all for the good conversations on the FJ and learned a few tricks along the way since I am still in the desert and haven't gotten a chance to even drive mine yet.

For all you senior citizens, I'll miss you the most. Special thanks to the following, but by no means all encompassing list. You've been great.

Highbeams
MissFJ
Mikey
Bostonian1976
KansasLawDog
RoverGGM
FJ Dragon
CaliFJ
1983FJ... something!

For all you noobs, ask a lot of questions and give your opinons. This forum is a lot of fun at times and you can learn a lot about your FJ or even jsut help cope until yours get here.

If you need me..I'll be in the desert for another 2 months and then rotate back to the states. If I run into you Bostonian1976 when I PCS to Maryland, I will try to look you guys up and hit the trails.

Peace out.

Re: My last thread

Alaskan, you forgot me! JK. Bummer man. too bad...I hope you will reconsider. I have read the censorship thread and though many good points have been made, I must side with the site owners.

This forum is by no means over regulated. We must have some rules and regulations otherwise the flies get in if you don't shut the door.

Even if the mods or site owners have to step on a few toes from time to time, it is oK by me. This site is a success because of their hard work and contribution of the vendors and forum members. The people who have been banned have been banned for good reason. Many of them, I'm sure had 2nd and 3rd chances. The link removals are understandable. We enjoy and benefit from this forum tremendously free of charge, so the least we can do is support the vendors.

Be safe man.

Sorry to see you go. Although I obviously don't agree with your criticisms of the site, I would like to thank you for your service to our country. It's people like you who preserve for the rest of us the right to disagree about silly internet forums.

Good luck and be safe.

Re: My last thread

Maybe some of the issues you have with the current state of affairs on this forum are just a result of your pain medication and frustration of slow recuperative progress. I wish you a speedy and complete recovery, and hope that you return sometime in the not to distance future. I echo the sentiments expressed by others to thank you for your service and sacrifice to our country.

Nicely said. On a serious note (of which I avoid almost religiously) as a Veteran as well, Life is a wonderful gift. Freedom and the right to pursue ones own direction (maybe that is happiness) is an almost equally wonderful gift.
As one who holds his principles very high on the list of priority, I also learned long before the hair gave way to lighten up and let the tide flow by sometimes. To swim against every current is exhausting and robs one of his energy when he just might need it for something important.
We used to call that picking the hill you want to die on.
Thankfully, I have not had to make that choice to many times but .... Youth being what it is - it often makes the hills more attractive than they really are.

Happy trails to our departing member and Brother in Arms.

I think I'm partly to blame since I never sent him a nekkid pic

Ditto on the service and I hope you get to enjoy your property in Alaska soon!
