Re: Wife wants to Swap FJ for 4R : (

Thanks for the Booster info and those sweet action pics. That is the biggest thing pushing her for the swap....the doors. I will fill her in on the seats and see what she thinks. Thanks again all and keep it coming.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with a 4R. We had one but sold it since we don't have kids, got the mustang for now

Re: Wife wants to Swap FJ for 4R : (

4Runners are great rigs!! I will say this, the uniqueness of the FJs seems to be gone, so I wouldn't sweat that one. I swear I see as many FJs as 4Runners around here.

I have been considering trading my Grand Cherokee in for a 4Runner. The wife isn't too comfortable driving the FJ, so it would be a better fit for her.

The 4th gen 4runners are sweet when fully modified! Some guys I know with 4Rs go hardcore wheeling with some of us FJ guys. But if that doesn't suit you , you might want somethig like a LC 80 or maybe 100 series.

A Land Cruiser would be cool but the money...Yikes! That is a big jump from 4runner to a LC but if I could I would. I've been looking into some mods for the 4R and it seems pretty comparable.

Well Nine12 there are bigger issues here. First, I would kill the guy when you find him. Were you on base at the time?

Re: Wife wants to Swap FJ for 4R : (

quality of the 4Runner is light years ahead of the FJ, imo.. especially considering the price. I thought long and hard to choose between the two, and I just like the design and the offroading capabilities of the FJ. Interior quality of the 4Runner is amazing! (I'm talking 07+ models. FJ is rugged, while the runner is tamed. I had a 99 4runner and loved it. newer models are 10x better than what i had. tranny and drivability of the runner is so smooth.
