When I take my FJC to Europe, does that make my warranty null and void? I asked this same question a while back but could not get a clear answer. I thought maybe someone might know now.

Did you also check if your car can be service by toyota dealers or not? Over here toyota dealers are declining to service any car that is not purchase through them.

I am sending my Toyota to Switzerland next week. Checked with the swiss dealer. They will not honor the warranty but will be able to do limited repair for a hefty fee (usual european rate). They said if the engine is essentially a lexus engine they have no problem with that but some other spare parts will have to be shipped from the US and could take very long unless you want to pay for Fedex cost. So i.e. if you need windshield or heavy body exterior part you are pretty much screwed in Europe. Assumming you are in the military, you can still use APO for some small items. Good luck....
I will be in the Frankfurt area. Hopefully there is a Toyota dealership there. Good thing Toyotas are known for their reliability.
Frankfurt is big.... When you get there check with the the community service on the base either Rhein/main air base or go further south to K-Town. I am sure they can guide you to the right dealer who can communicate in english. Good luck and hope to see you on the Autobahn some day. Its good to know I am not the only FJ there...
I'm taking mine to England (where it will be even more unusual becuase it's Left Hand Drive) - I will get servicing carried out by the local Toyota dealer - but I doubt I will be able to get any warranty issues honoured!
I'm sure any unusual parts can be sent via DHL on a two day delivery.

Good luck drivng on the wrong side of the road an dvery very careful please. I am also in shipping business.....have you checked the shipping cost lately? never mind that UK customs add 21% on top of your declared value unless you have a legal way to get it exempted. Your spare parts will be very expensive by the time it landed in the UK.

Yes I'm used to driving a Left Hand drive in England (I've also owned a few Hummer's!) not THOSE can be tricky on narrow country lanes!
Cost to ship is about $2000 in a shared 40 Foot container (cheaper if you go RoRo - but I don't want the risk)
The import costs are actually as follows:
Vehicle Cost $ 30,000
Shipping $ 2,000
Sub Total $ 32,000
Import Duty 10% = $ 3,200
Sub Total $ 35,200
Value Added Tax 17.5% $ 6,160
Total = $ 41,360
Then on top of that there are local road regulations tests to Pass ($2500) and Road Tax and registration fee ($400)
So this will be a $45,000 dollar car by the time it's on the road in England.
