Re: Spark plugs

Short answer, Bosch plugs absolutely SUCK. Use ND or NGK only.

Just use standard plugs, platinum one's don't work as well as the cheaper one's.

Re: Spark plugs

I replaced the plugs in my 07 with NGK Iridiums. Some folks here will tell you to stay away from the Iridiums on the 07-09 FJ's (OEM is copper plug) but I did mine about 20,000 miles ago and no issues whatsoever.

I'm one of them.

I tried them fancified high falutin uber spark plugs and the FJ ran like sh!t.

Moved back to copper core plugs as per the manual and the FJ has been purring like a fat cat.

Re: Spark plugs

After much research last summer I replaced mine with factory plugs. Too many bad reviews on alternative plugs.

Re: Spark plugs

With 20+ years of Engineering and another 10 in automotive repair, I am inclined to say Denso is the best overall, then NGK & Bosch, then AC-Delco. This is based on experience and ratings. Best Spark Plugs ? Compare Reviews and Ratings | Bestcovery Not that this link is a definitive or reliable.
