Cruiser Keys

What keys came with the Cruiser when it was new? The 2012 we just bought came with only 1 remote key and the dealer is going to pay for a second. Thankfully. Those suckers are expensive.
I'm wondering if it came with a valet key? Doesn't seem like there would be a need for one since there is no locked trunk or glove box so I'm thinking there wasn't. Thanks.

Re: Cruiser Keys

New, it should have come with 2 remote keys and 1 valet key (my 2012 and my 2014 both did)

And the valet key is so they cannot reprogram your system and make more keys.

What all can you do with a Valet key? I assume the valet key isn't chipped?

Re: Cruiser Keys

I bought my 2013 TT new and I only remember getting the 2 keys, both are the same. Haha my wife may have snatched up the 3rd and hid it away somewhere safe before I realized for an emergency though... now I'll have to ask her ...

Re: Cruiser Keys

I just purchased my 2013 TT last month and it came with one after market key. I was able to contact the original seller and he gave me a keyless entry remote. It opens everything with both key and remote, however it will not start my rig. I guess somehow it is no longer attached to the security module? I ordered an OBD key programmer and am hoping I can program the keyless entry key. Anyone had any good results with Ebay key programmer?
