My cruiser has the vehicle stabiility contral? Anyhow yesterday I turned her real hard in an empty parking lot. I was going at a high rate of speed. Didn't notice anything kicking in. I have owned cars with this feature before. Do we really have this feature?

Are you serious.......?
Of course you have the feature! It's on all the Toyota SUVs.

Re: vsc

It doesn't exist. It's just some words on a window sticker that allows Toyota to charge buyers more money

Let us know when you roll your FJ and we'll talk more about it then

Re: vsc

It's the reason that in a hard over turn, with full throtle, you can't break the tires loose. You not feeling is the way it's supposed to work

Re: vsc

but doesn't it light up or something when it kicks in? I know on dad's suburban if you piss it off...it says stability sys active and traction sys active....does this give you any visual feedback?

Re: vsc

I've cornered my FJ hard and no lights or warnings happen. In our Sequoia is a different story. If one of the rear tires go off the curb when you're pulling out of a drive or parking lot, the VSC light flashes and there is a momentary loss of power. Get squirrelly on a dirt road and the beeping starts and the system kicks in. I'm guessing the system in the FJ might be a tad different?
Just my dos centavos.

Re: vsc

I think being designed for off-road they wouldn't want it having bells, blinkers, and whistles going off while you're wheelin'. Some things are just better left unsaid.

Nay-sayer...That would be a GM trick...just words on the sticker. I'll wait til winter and slick roads before I start to believe it's not really there.

I can tell ya it's there on our Sequoia...we just replaced some type of sensor for 500 bucks just so we didn't have to look at the VSC light on all the time!

I don't think it belongs on the FJ either...at least it's disabled when in 4 low.
