Wise to wait?

Test drove twice, love the beast! love the looks,drive...

Got my quote(MSRP less ~1800) and am so close to closing the deal but I'm having second thoughts now... wanting to wait since I'm getting more concerned with

1. Windshield issue
Bugs and Chips, Backordered windshields...? That dosen't sound good
2. Wind noise with the rack and no air dam
3. People selling theirs

What do you guys think.

Will be using mine for commuting, some offroading.. Will need plenty of good snow performance since I'm moving to northern maine.

Re: Wise to wait?

What's to wait for? Bought mine and love driving it, looks, capabilities, etc. There will always be issues with any vehicle....but does the good outweigh the questions?

Re: Wise to wait?

MT6 has All Wheel Drive...

There has been only a few Windshield rock hits here on this forum,
considering how mnay people fequent here, thats not a bad ratio...

I have never heard the Wind noise people speak about...

People selling them has allot to do with money they don't have, or
they did not think of the vehicle and the use they wanted it for...

You on the otherhand in Maine... Some off-roading... AND YOU LUV
It by how many test drive and the reading you have done on it...

GO FOR IT... But I am Biased.. I Have 2 FJC's...

Re: Wise to wait?

I agree the prior posters...that sounds like a great price and a perfect unit for Maine. Get it done!

I would like to second bandi with regard to the wind noise. I read a bunch of people complaining about the noise w/ their roof rack, so I figured I would be turning my music up (wouldn't think of getting my FJ w/o the rack). I've only had my FJ a little over a week but already put over 1100 miles on it and I have not heard a thing. Granted, I'm use to old, loud muscle cars so this is one of the quietest cars I've ever had, but I know the sound of wind noise and I just don't hear it with my FJC. As for the chipped windshield issue, see what your insurance company charges for an added policy...most are pretty reasonable if you're that concerned about buying a new windshield.

Re: Wise to wait?

Most of the people I have seen selling theirs have been on ebay and trying to make some money on them, Here in Phoenix they are hopping off the lot. I love mine, rack is a little noisy at high speeds but not bad.

Re: Wise to wait?

With 1800 off of MSRP and if no hidden bogus dealer charges I would say you are doing better than 99% of anyone on this board on price. I personally don't think that these will get any cheaper. If anything they will go up. I think the demand is so far ahead of supply that it will be the 08 models before any real bargaining can be done. Does sound like you've decided. Gonna kick yourself if someone else buys and that dealer finds out he can sell it without the discount. Seize the moment.. Just my .02

Re: Wise to wait?

It will be the perfect truck for your voyages through the snow covered New England forests with your maple syrup buckets rattling in the back. I Love mine and have NO regets at all, You've got a good price lined up, don't get a rack it doesn't hold much anyway, and don't follow gravel trucks too closely....
