Angry noise in rear of inside car

I dont think I am being picky, but I am experiencing what seems like air coming fromthe rear of the vehicle from the inside. It sounds like as if a window is down or something but we all know there are no windows in back that can open. It is driving me crazy. Has anyone else experienced this? And if so, what have you done about it? When I test drove vehicle with radio off (i never turned radio on) It was a perfect ride with no road or wind noises. I need help here.

It is killing me.

Re: noise in rear of inside car

ok i thought that was it. It will take some getting used to. Probably tires because test car had old tires onit that was recalled. These new ones may make noise. I have roof rack though.

I had that noise also, do you have a roofrack? The noise is windnoise from the roofrack. When you go into the dealer and get the roofrack rattle fix it will take care of most of it but you will still here some not nearly as bad.

Re: noise in rear of inside car

I test drove two FJ's. The first did not have any noise. The second had the air seepage noise similar to what you described. The salesman said it was the window in the back door that wasn't seated properly.

Re: noise in rear of inside car

I am not SURE about this... but I've had my rear bumper off to do a "factory" hitch install and noticed there are vents with "one way" diaphram covers for air on either side of the FJ at the rear corners. I am assuming this is exhaust from the interior. I guess this could be a spot where air could generate noise...

I will be posting my hitch install soon and you will be able to see pics of this then - a couple of hours from now hopefully.

PS - Title of post says "car" - *BAD* FJ owner!
