6" ProComp with roof rack a must have is 7' clearance but down this way.. not so crowded so no need to worry about parking garages.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways at the last possible moment .... "Old Forester" in one hand, red meat in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming: "WOO HOO!! What a Ride."
Without the rack i dont think you'll have any problems. With the rack I think you are SOL. I have a 3"OME lift with 305 Mickey Thompsons. After I broke my factory rack by overloading it I had some wait time for my Gobi Ranger rack to come (be paid for). For a while I drove without a rack but with the lift & had no problems. Now it is almost impossible to find a garage or drive through car wash I can fit in. The real question is, do you need a lift in LA? I live in Northern California in Stockton and have driven around LA without it really bieng a concern. Also, I go to SF all the time and can deal with parking fine (I think the situation is worse there). The nice thing, in my opinion, is that when I'm driving through LA or SF traffic and all those crazy bad drivers try to cut me off I know that if they hit me theyll just F-up their little cars on my all-pro rock sliders, because thats about where the average hood would touch. Also, in the case of an earthquake, I'll be on the street poised for a quick getaway! Think of all the Impalas and civics I could drive over...
Do you find it impractical with a lift? Lift will mean that you can no longer park in garage parkings, garage at home etc.. also less room in tight spots. I live in LA and parking is a big deal.
im still able to park every where
umm a lift is not needed
to add insult to the injury, some garage parking's got speed bumps inside, giving you even less clearance. We need one of those hydraulic shock thingies like some of the concept 4x4, where you can raise or lower the vehicle, with a push of a button

My FJ still fits in my garage. I have no regrets. I'm going places I couldn't if I was lifted. I guess my situation is very different from yours.

roof rack, 295 Nittos and 3 inch lift and top of rack is 6'6"....or that is what the bar said in Wash DC Hotel parking garage that the very top of the mounting hardware used in my rack bumped....it was that close.
All is good though...

I'm out the the garage with the OME lift, Baja rack and 285-75's. I do hafta be careful in parking garages. Scraped the rack once before and once after the lift.
Still...never looked back.
