People with Lifts chime in!

Do you find it impractical with a lift? Lift will mean that you can no longer park in garage parkings, garage at home etc.. also less room in tight spots. I live in LA and parking is a big deal.

Re: People with Lifts chime in!

I have a 3" and no roof rack and have never had a problem but a few place if I had a roof rack might have been an issue.

Re: People with Lifts chime in!

I have an Icon lift (front and back) with larger tires and a roof rack and live in Dallas so I'm in and out of parking garages all the time. I've only encountered one instance where I wasn't going to make it under the overhang. Other than that no worries.

Re: People with Lifts chime in!

If you dont have a roof rack you should be able to get in allmost all parking garages .When I first but on the 3" lift I forgot and got hung up in a garage in San Jose I can squeeze in my garage at home and its a 7' header,of course that will change one I put tires on!!

Re: People with Lifts chime in!

in LA, we have pretty low clearance in the garages. you guy have idea how high FJ sits with bigger tires, lift and roofrack? If i recall correctly, garage parkings are usually around 8'-10' i believe.

Re: People with Lifts chime in!

i have a total of about 3.5 -4" inch lift . I solved my garage problem, and many other problems by moving out of LA

I'm 6'5" and I can see the top of mine, 3" lift and 285/70/17. The roof rack will add 5" to it so I'm guessing 6'7"-6'8"

Re: People with Lifts chime in!

I could barely fit in most Seattle parking garages stock. I don't find it to be an inconvenience, it just means I have to plan ahead a little. And maybe (gasp) walk a little farther to wherever I was going.

I never fit in my garage at home anyway, the FJ is too wide. It would look like the Kool-aid guy had been at my house if I tried to pull in my garage.

Re: People with Lifts chime in!

I fit in my 7' garage with about 1" clearance. I'm running a 3" total, roof rack + WAAG XS Basket. When I put the snowboard rack on I have about 1/8" clearance
