Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways at the last possible moment .... "Old Forester" in one hand, red meat in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming: "WOO HOO!! What a Ride."

Re: Killed Bessie (my FJ) and will be building another...

Ok, call me a sap, call me a cheeseball, call me weird or whatever you want to but...

I totally feel for Matt and Bessie. I just got my '08 Sun Fusion (his name is Father Jenkins) last January, and MAN have I fallen in love with the thing. I don't mean like "Wow that is a COOL car!" but more of a brotherly love. If something happened to Father Jenkins, I would probably have a hard time for quite a little while. Seriously.

Since I was a young boy, I will occasionally have talks with my dad about how I truly believe every car has a "soul," and Dad always says that when he looks at a vehicle he doesn't see a machine.... he sees eyes. I always thought that was pretty cool.

Father Jenkins is just a much a part of who I am as I am a part of him. I hopefully that continues for a looonnnngggg time.

I hope everything goes well for you a Bessie II. We don't really know how good things are until we miss them...

Wherever you are Bessie, keep rockin' on like everyone says that you did
