The only time I had some insults were during a snow storm. A car was in a ditch and a cop and a tundra were right there. The tundra had a bad tow rope so I offered to do it. The cop starts laughing and said "you sure you can handle it?" i yank the guy out while i'm sitting on ice. Suffice to say the cop was speechless and as we left he almost slipped into the same ditch.
Also, Ram drivers hate them around here. They always say to call them if I get stuck, I just shake my head and drive off.
I call it FJ Tricks. No one ever knows what they are capable of and I say FJ Tricks.
Luckily I have had more positive comments than negative. Most people just tell me it they like it or it's a great looking rig or they really like the sunfusion color.
However, shortly after getting it my niece asks why I bought one of those ugly things. My father in law says he can't believe I bought something like that. Wants to know what I was thinking in regards to the color. I told him it was the best color option on the lot. The dealer had 3 brick Fj's and I just can't get a feel for that shade. He has never liked any of my personal cars but he has liked cars my wife has had, go figure. I mean I have had some sporty rides in the past but he expects me to think his 2004 anniversary edition Rustang GT is da bomb. My own mother calls it a pumpkin. I keep telling her it is not orange. Orange is my favorite color though. I have yet to be completely insulted by someones comment.
I haven't really had any insults per say, mine have mostly been cases of mistaken identity. It's been called a baby Hummer, a Jeep, and once a "Thing". People don't really say much bad about it around here, I'm the only person for about 50 miles that has one and every one just asks what it is and stuff like that. Plus people say that it "Just fits me", I haven't really figured this one out yet. I love mine regardless of what people say though.

We were having a conversation with a man on the beach one day and he started asking about the FJ. He basically called it ugly and said that everytime he sees one he tells his wife "their goes that skunk-mobile again".

Yea I am in the middle of the sticks, and I HATE it. No where to go off roading/ mud ridding because everything is hunting clubs and stuff...
