I actually had someone say that to me as well. I responded by telling him they do come in 4WD, and mine was 4WD. I then showed him the drive selector on the floor.
After all that he looked puzzled, so I just said "Don't worry, we don't want morons in our family anyway". I then told him I saw a short bus for sale in front of a daycare if he was interested.
I've had the H3 comparison as well... but those are easy. I just say, they are priced similarly but mine will run longer and with far less issues, so it was an easy decision. That usually shuts them up quickly.

Got a new one today from my brother. While driving around he happened to be following a yellow FJC. He told his daughter, "look, uncle Mark bought that kind of car." She followed up with, "why did he buy a school bus?" She's 6 years old so I guess I can cut her some slack.

Recently, I had an old gent checking out my FJ pretty intently as I pulled in to a parking lot. Then as I was walking away from it he said "Is that the new Rav4?" I did a proverbial facepalm before explaining to him the awesomeness that is the FJ Cruiser, Toyota's flagship offroad vehicle.

Right after I got mine a co-worker commented on the "TRD" asking if that was pronouced Turd... I took a couple of co-workers out at lunch for a little "wheeling" and that ended that...
